It is also important to have a thesis in which explain exactly what are will be adressing in your speech. This means that the thesis must be explanatory. In the into, the main points should be stated as well as the evidence of reliability, which could be quoting a statistics from an important resource. According to the book you also want to ensure that you include the purpose for what you are trying to attain. The books tips provide a form that makes the introduction flow and creates validity for the speaker. Starting off the introduction is important because it sets the tone for the rest of the speech, and the potential to attain good feedback. The book provides the basis for writing and formatting an adequate introduction.
The conclusion should provide most of the information and restate the major points of the speech. It should also close with a memorable ending because it is the final sentences in the entire speech. The listeners should also have an understanding that the conclusion is the final sentences in the speech. This is why it is important to have transitional phrases that lead into the conclusion. The book says to make sure to reiterate the important points, as well as the thesis of the speech. For my informative speech, I am still working on keeping the intro and thesis simple but effective. It defiantly is hard but i think that in following the blue prints that the book sets, my speech will be adequate.
